English
I loved taking English this year. I really enjoyed that Mrs. Fuller was the teacher. We read two great books, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, and, The Book Thief. We also did lots of projects. We had to make posters revolving mental illness, and posters about big life changing events that have happened to us. My favorite thing we did in English was reading the book, The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak. I loved the book and thought it was extremely interesting, especially because it's told in Deaths point of view. I think I worked well in this class, and this class worked well for me. It was a lot of projects and reading, but I had fun doing it. It helped that the books we read were really interesting and fun to read. English was awesome this year, I couldn't have asked for a better class.
I had a lot of fun doing the Literature Circle Packet, mostly because I loved reading, The Book Thief. It was so interesting learning about the Holocaust, especially from Deaths point of view. The book truly touched my heart. Markus Zusak did an amazing job writing this book. I completed this assignment when I was in the first chapter of the book. I chose to summarize what had happened so far in the book with bullet points, and search the definitions of German words. I'm very proud of my work in this packet. I tried very hard and I could tell I did when I got the packet back. I got a forty out of forty, one hundred percent! I'm very happy with this assignment, it was a great way to start off the book.
I'm also very proud of my work done on, The Book Thief Questions. This assignment showed that I really understood the book so far. I had to answer question such as, "What was my first impression of the book?" I got to write a lot about my personal opinion of the book. I like expressing my opinions and hearing others, so getting a ten out of ten on this meant a lot to me. It's like getting a perfect grade on my opinion. This worksheet didn't make me work much but I really liked this short assignment. Looking back at my work I can see how excited I was to read the book, even though I had already read it. I'm very happy we chose to read, The Book Thief, it's one of my favorite books.
My Life Event Color Collage, was my favorite assignment in English. Not only does it relate to the book, but it also represents an important event to me. Death sees things in color. For this assignment we had to choose an event and make a collage in colors that would relate to the event. The event I chose was getting my new puppy, Winnie. When Nick and I got Winnie, it was a very memorable moment for us. It was like starting our own little family together. Winnie is something we love and share. To show this event on the collage I included lots of yellow because yellow to me represents happiness. I included pictures of dogs because of course Winnie is a dog. I also included words like, family, fun, adopted, I love. Nick and I love Winnie with all our hearts, she's a lot of fun. Winnies part of our little family. We love Winnie, and I think adopting her was the perfect event to choose for this assignment.
