Biology
Biology is what I usually start my day with. I'm not the best at Biology and I usually wouldn't make it very often because it's first period. Lately I have been going and getting all my work done. I enjoy Biology. At first, to be honest I didn't really like biology but once I started showing up and getting work done I started liking it. It wasn't easy to start liking but eventually I warmed up to it. At first there was nothing I liked about Biology, but once I gave it a chance I and went I realized the teacher was pretty cool. Mrs. Moore is awesome and a good teacher. My favorite part had to be learning about cells, such as eukaryotic and prokaryotic. I loved learning the difference between plant and animal cells, and the different organelles inside each cell. I guess I could say I worked the hardest on the cells unit of Biology. My favorite thing we did in Biology is probably the packets. I love doing packets, I'm not really sure why I do. I just like looking for the answers in the book and reading. I'm not much of a reader but I loved reading the books. I'm glad I took Biology this year, it turned out to be a lot of fun.
This, even though its just a worksheet, made me really proud to get a five out of five on. This worksheets is called, Food Chain and the Web of Life. What I did was drew arrows to show the food chain and answered the questions that went along with it. In order to complete this worksheet I hade to learn a lot about food chains and webs. I learned that food chains start with a producer and end with a decomposer. I also learned a lot about herbivores, carnivores, primary consumers and secondary consumers. I had a lot of trouble with this unit of Biology and I'm very proud of myself that I got a five out of five. It took work to learn about food chains a food webs, but my efforts showed when I got this worksheet back. This worksheet really shows that I can turn things around. Even though I struggled with this unit I pushed through.
On this worksheet called, A View of the Cell, I got an eight out of eight. I chose to show this worksheet because not only am I proud of the grade I got, but Chapter 8 is by far my favorite unit of Biology. To complete this assignment I had to know a lot about the eukaryotic cell structure, such as the difference between the cell membrane and plasma membrane and details about the nucleus. From this unit I learned that there are many things that separate the cell wall and plasma membrane from each other. I also learned that the nucleus controls cell functions and stores DNA, that is the master instructor for building proteins. Learning about the nuclear envelope, that surrounds the nucleus, was interesting as well. I'm very proud of the work done on this worksheet and of course couldn't ask for a better grade.
This test on Chapter 8 made me really proud of myself. I got a 93.3% on this which is equivalent to an A. The Chapter 8 is the only Biology test I got a good grade. In the end it really boosted up my grade in Biology. Learning about cells was my favorite thing I learned in Biology. Not only was Biology a struggle for me at first but I didn't enjoy it either. Once I started showing up and focusing on my work I enjoyed it, especially when we started learning about cells. We did lots of worksheets on the inside of cells, and the different types of cells. It really prepared me for the upcoming test. I even made myself a study guide to study from. Working hard on Chapter 8 really paid off. I'm happy to say my hard work in Chapter 8 boosted my grade up to a B. The Chapter 8 test really shows that all my efforts really do help me in the end.
